What Systems Could Use More Attention?

I would have proposed Shadow of the Weird Wizard, but as a one-shot I am not so sure...

Maybe? At least with pre-gens? There isn't a massive amount of special casing you have to learn when you start out, and the basic mechanics (even boons and banes) aren't super complicated. I'm not sure about someone playing a spellcaster, but then, I'm not sure about that for any one-shot in any game.

Given its very quick character creation and the fact that each adventure is supposed to last around a session, I'd say it's actually a pretty good fit!
I was more thinking of it from a ‘show the differences to 5e’ perspective, and those are not as highlighted in a one-shot imo

To me games like Draw Steel work better for that as the differences become apparent immediately

Lots of great games mentioned already but I'd add GUMSHOE to the list, in any of its various flavours - Swords of the Serpentine, Night's Black Agents, Trail of Cthulhu, Yellow King, Mutant City Blues &c &c. There are so many fantastic systems out there but Gumshoe is the one I keep coming back to.
