This actually reminds me of how Sony is selling the PSP in the US. You can't simply buy a PSP for what it really costs (about $170). You have to buy a "value" pack full of extra useless junk. (Though in this case, at least the extra stuff has some extra use if you happen to be rich and have the best of everything. But IMHO, rather than having poor people subsidize it, MS should simply have charged more for those high end features)
