D&D 5E What the heck were they thinking?! There's going to be "fire" in D&D 5th Edition!?

Where there is fire, there are fireballs.

Where there are fireballs, there damned well better not be fire pellets.

Now that was rather unseemly of the cleric; making a deal in good faith with the trolls, then cheating them on it.

No fire pellets? You gotta have one for Delayed Blast Fireball. Or something, like a little fiery timer, ticking down to 0.

This was a big ol' fight that happened in the run up to 3e. Sonofapreacherman doesn't like the way fireball worked in 2e, where you had a little pellet that flew through the air and then exploded into the fireball. I don't remember exactly what he DID want, but he wanted it really, really badly.
