What to buy... Help!

*owns all three*

Advanced Player's Guide is probably the weakest of those mentioned and certainly not the strongest overall of the Advanced Guides currently available.

Thieves World for me rocks because I'm a fan of the setting. Same is true for Black Company.

To me it's tie between the two with the edge given slightly to Thieves World. This because I really liked a number of the characters and the urban style.

I'm partial to Grim Tales with Thieves' World pulling a close, close second. The biggest departure for most with GT is how much lower the magic is. Thieves' World is much closer to the D&D norm.

Waiting in eager anticipation!

In the meantime you can read my review if you haven't already...will happily answer any questions my review fails to address :)

This Thieves World really reminds me of Lankmar. (Sp?)

Is this a fairly accurate idea? If so, I would be keen on some Grey Mouserish action now and again.

The simple answer is yes. Grey Mouser is actually mentioned in the forward of one of the books, where it explains how they came up with the idea.
