isn't eschew materials Epic or am I thinking of another feat.
As an example a fighter/wizard gestalt gains the fighters bab/fort save/ bonus feat/hd and the wizards will save/ and spell progression
If you're trying to maximize your saves, try and get classes with opposing saves. If you've got a good save in one class and the same save is poor on the other, you'll actually have a +15 to the save at 20th level, rather than +12, since not all of the saves will overlap.
Here's a mean idea for your other class...Favored Soul; it's from Miniatures Handbook and Complete Divine. Middle BAB, all good saves, spontaneous divine spellcasting, a few resistances and feats, and wings and DR later on.
Also, if you can take, say, Human Paragon at first level, and then Favored Soul from there on out, you'll have simply insane saves, as you'll get +1 to each save at each level; that'd be +22 to each at 20th level. Also, by using Human Paragon to offset the first level of Favored Soul from Monk, you'll avoid the gaps in Monk BAB to get a +19 BAB at 20th level.
You already have a decent Charisma, so it doesn't make MSD too much worse. Plus, you'll get spontaneous divine casting. Plus, you get Weapon Focus and Weapon Specialization in the deity's favored weapon...which, for Ilmater, is unarmed strike. And, when you hit 20th level in both classes, you'll have DR 10/magic, silver, and evil.
Alternately, psychic warrior, esp. the 3.5 version, is a very nice mix with monk. You keep the same level of MSD, bonus feats, and nifty powers. Even VoPing, you aren't required to use anything that doesn't come from within you.
