What to run... what to run

I am starting a new campaign in a few weeks, once Shackled City is finished. The plan right now is to start with Wizard's Amulet (Necromancer Games), then follow that with Crucible of Freya, then possibly The Dragonfiend Pact (DCC 11), then go to Tomb of Abysthor and Rappan Athuk.

The home city for the PC's will be Bard's Gate, and I will probably have them hop between adventures in Tomb of Abysthor and Rappan Athuk. They would probably get bored if they just had to go through the entire dungeon all at once.

I have other stuff I want to use later on, but I figure that plan should get them to lvl 10 or so.

One more thing; if you are DMing for new players, try running The Wizard's Amulet, and have that lead in to Crucible of Freya. I know time is short, and I'm not sure if you have CoF, but WA is available for free as a PDF at the Necromancer Games website. Although I also think that The Adventure Begins is a great starter, so use whatever you have on hand, I suppose.

Hi,

If you've got the Shackled City, why not run it? I have it and it's just sitting there on my shelf..... I think either that or Age of Worms will be my next campaign. You can always stop after the first two or three adventures and run something else if you don't want to do the whole campaign.

Cheers

Richard

If you're starting with the Freeport Trilogy (a nice, solid choice, I might add), you could easily segue into the Savage Tide AP.

I'd hit them with something classic with lots of iconic D&D.

Maybe one of the adventure beginns adventures, then of Sound Mind?

I think the adventure path stuff is not so good for beginner. The adventures are very tough. Getting killed by
the Grell in Life's Bazaar is not exactly the first time gaming expirience I'd wish for and a very likely scenario

I was a little afraid of that, too. I ran through the first two adventures with my old group before two players moved.

Well, I ran Tower of the Black Pearl from The Adventure Begins. Only the two experienced players showed up. The adventure was a little rough on just two of them, so we suspended until next time so we could find the rest of the party bound and gagged by the pirates, so they have a chance of finishing.

I decided on Tower of the Black Pearl because it's an easy segue to Freeport, but leaves me open to run Shades of Gray (a very classic epic campaign, might be good for the newbies.)

I am curious what you were going to do also. I am going to start a campaign, the players are making characters today, and I have been stuck between a Dungeon AP and something like Shades of Gray, a Goodman "AP" and the classic Necro start (Wizards Amulet, Crucible of Freya, etc).

Still undecided and I better make up my mind ASAP!!!
