What type is bite?

In last weekend's game, my summoned wolf bit a skeleton and the game ground to a halt while we tried to determine if the bite was piercing, slashing, bludgeoning, none, or some combination there of.

Where is this little tidbit of information hidden in the D&D 3.5 tomes?

Bite: The creature attacks with it mouth, dealing piercing, slashing, and bludgeoning damage.
