I voted tactician, since the only thing I love more than a good game of Chess is a good tactical challenge in an RPG. However, I must admit that I like to kick some butt now and again as well.

Oh, I'm primarily a Tactitian, but I often keep those thoughts to myself. It doesn't always make sense to be shouting out commands/suggestions in melee. I do try to make sure my char is in the right place, trying to subtly change the flow of combat.

Given the opportunity, I'm also a Specialist. Greylock, Ranger Enthusiast, pleased to meet ya. I sometimes play other classes, though. I have to be pushed into doing it.

I can also display characteristics of the Casual Gamer and the Butt-Kicker, depending on my mood.

Call it a 50/30/10/10 mix.

Hmmm...

Tactitian 10/Specialist 2/Butt-Kicker 1

I voted for Tactitian...but have a couple of other misc. levels thrown in. Ex-military, history buff and a penchant for finding angles the DM didn't expect. However, since I DM most of the time and rarely get to play...I get to be all of the above :D!

Post 26, and I'm the first person to correctly follow instructions? Maybe I need a new category of gamer; "Anal Attentive". :D

Storytelller
Butt-Kicker
Tactician
Power Gamer
Casual Gamer
Method Actor
Specialist

While I have aspects of all of these styles (who doesn't??), I fall most commonly into the Storyteller category.

I love creating a complex character with deep background and lots of personality, but one that fits within the rules and one that helps move the tale along.

But as I say, I am, at times, any of the other categories, depending from game to game, session to session.

I mean, I play a very different sort of character in Over the Edge from one I play in D&D 3.whatever

In Order List (fave to least)
Storyteller
Specialist
Method Actor
Butt-Kicker
Casual Gamer
Tactician
Power Gamer

I'm a mixture of many of them, but probably closest to Tactician.

When we aren't in combat, but we are playing: method actor, story teller, and a little tactician.

When we are in combat: tactician, butkicker (if I had a bad day) with a little method actor.

When we are not gaming, but planning, discussing the adventure: Tactician, Storyteller with a bit of Power Gamer.

It is hard to pick between the last three or four. And I have a strong feeling that people who have player in games with me would rte me differently from the way i see myself. But my guess is:

Tactician
Storyteller
Powergamer
Method actor
Butt-kicker
Casual gamer
Specialist.

I detest beeing categorized.I see myself in most of these categories but none of them is suffiecient in my opinion to fully describe a player.I like to min/max my characters but not in the extreme.I like to but-kick a bit with specific kind of characters witch makes me a specialist and i tend to see my characters as extensions of my personality.I am a bit of a role player, thought i value the existance of dices, numbers and experience points. All these make me a bit of everything and a bit of nothing.Thats all :) .
