What version of D&D are you playing?

What edition(s) are you playing?

As far as D&D is concerned we play a hybrid version of fantasy role playing games of my own design but with elements I, or we, have more or less adopted from various sources. I still however think of it mostly as being derived primarily from D&D.

Much of the overall structure of the game is AD&D. We use the 4th edition character classes, with some modifications, for the non-human characters on Ghantik (I also generally like the Ritual magic system of 4th edition. We use modified AD&D character classes for the human characters on our world. (This makes human and non-human characters very different in nature from each other, and preserves the uniqueness of the lines of separation between humans and non-humans.) We use a modified skill system adopted in large part from 3rd edition but greatly simplified, and which includes real world skills.

We use magical and supernatural miracle systems of either my own devising or adopted from the best other gamming systems we could find.

But again I mostly think of it as D&D, or D&D is the primary source from which we have derived the game elements we use in our fantasy rpg. But it is difficult for me to say it is mainly this version or that version. Rather it is a sort of amalgamated hybridization.

There was a poll a while ago that tried to gauge what percentage of ENWorlders were playing 3.X and/or 4th edition (or in the process of switching over).

Without getting into edition bashing (please) I'd like to see the what editions of D&D are being played by the folks on these forums.

Definitely Pathfinder Beta right now. Waiting for the final Pathfinder any day now to arrive in the mail.

Playing in two games currently, preparing to start DMing again in September... All three games are 4E

...

After seeing the poll results it occurs to me that it would be interesting to see how many people play both 3E/Pathfinder and 4E

The poll allows multiple choices, so you can see what percentage of ENWorlders play both 3.X/Pathfinders & 4th edition.

At this point it's around 50% (with 57% playing 4th edition and 47% playing 3.X). It's good to see that there's room for both.

When I last played D&D, it was a heavily modified 3e, 3.5, plus many Third Party/OGL books, with a horde of house rules so that in the end it was only arguably D&D anymore...

My group really enjoyed it. :)

4e for my main weekly game. My players enjoy it more than they enjoyed our 3e campaign, so it's had some longevity. We've been playing it most weeks since the game came out.

I run a modified Call of Cthulhu d20, too, which is sort of 3esque, but not technically a Fantasy game or D&D, so I left it out. I also might go back to a Star Wars Saga Edition game at some point for a small game, but I'm honestly overwhelmed by the amount of material for it nowadays.

I also run a pseudo-monthly 1e AD&D game where I'm actually trying to run it close to the actual 1e rules. :)

So yeah. I put down 4e and 1e. :)
