I'm guessing you're a fan?
As a DM I'm a huge fan of 2024 rules since it nerfs all the most egregiously overpowered abilities, and buffs most of the weak/underpowered classes/subclasses to make them more playable. I would absolutely refuse to DM with the 2014 rules

As a min/max player who loves optimizing everything, I still prefer the balance of 2024, but I'm playing in a mixed 2014/2024 campaign now and you can bet your ass I'm picking all my PC abilities from the busted 2014 rules

Interesting take, but I'd rather we not take potshots at different editions, that's not the place for it here.

I was wondering about this- what're the primary differences between 14 and 24, if you discount character options like classes, feats, and origins, as well as spells? What states "I'm playing 5e14" vs "I'm playing 5e24" if not those character options and spells?
I am curious if the differences between 14 and 24 are noticeable during gameplay. Ditto for 14/24 and A5e. ;)
Dual-wielding changed to actually be good
Does the 2024 version of Dual-Wielding address the problem of competing Bonus Actions? In 5e14, you had to either decide to use your Bonus Action for your offhand attack or to forgo that attack for something else that also required a Bonus Action (such as a spell or a class/subclass feature).

Laser Llama's version of Dual-Wielding does address this issue by allowing you to make your offhand weapon attack as a part of your Attack action instead of a Bonus Action. The Bonus Action can then be used for spellcasting or a class/subclass feature. Also, this version of Dual-Wielding doesn't require anything like a Weapon Mastery property for it to work.

My forever hot-take is that 2e gets a bad rap.
It's well loved by the generation of players who started with it and many others.

In 1990, I wanted to play AD&D 1e again after a five year hiatus. I met my future wife and she told me her brother played Dungeons & Dragons. After talking with him I learned a 2e had come out. I bought the books, read them, like what I saw, formed a group and we played for 5 years together. Great times!

Using A5e is very noticeable on the GM side, and my players are using classes and heritages that don't exist in vanilla WotC 5e (including combat maneuvers), so yeah, I'd say we notice.
