What videogames are you playing in 2026?

Well, downloaded Menace and absolutely LOVING it. Hitting all the right places for a turn based combat game. It's still early release, so, it's a bit rough, but, very, very cool. Challenging, complex in just the right places. Even the UI isn't too bad. I've had a couple of miss clicks at the outset and figuring out targeting can be a bit of a challenge, but, nope, definitely happy with this for the foreseeable future.
Downloaded day before yesterday, will check out today. Looks great!

The camera is pretty bad yeah. Though I would say the same is true of almost every non-fixed perspective isometric game. I can't think of one where it is good. Different kinds of bad, but all bad
I played a lot of Neverwinter Night 2 as a lad - the camera in BG3 didn’t faze me at all. But I guess other genres may have less terrible cameras by default
And yes, agree on pathing too - it's dreadful, and annoying.
It’s a loving homage to the original. If your party isn’t mindlessly running over traps, are you really playing Baldur’s Gate?

The only thing that really frustrates me about the camera in BG3 is a lack of decent altitude control. In a game with so much verticality in maps, being unable to properly aim at or view a higher level can be really limiting.

The camera is similar to other games, I guess if you have played those you have learned the skill of controlling it. If you haven’t you are likely to struggle at least at first.

But it’s certainly true that the camera in NWN and its sequel was far worse.

I've put a lot of hours into BG3, I'm way beyond "at first". Other games, XCOM 2 for instance, include vertical controls that BG3 lacks. Even zooming the view right out or going into overhead view often still leaves high level features such as rafters inaccessible if your character is at ground level.
