Weapon Insanity

In my current Ravenloft Game, which uses a hybrid of Arcana Evolved and D&D 3.5 rules, we have a great deal of variation in weapon styles.

My character, Sir Mayhew Engels is a Warmain 8/ Psychic Warrior 1/ Holy Liberator 6, and all-around Communist Revolutionary, wielding a Monkey-gripped Scythe in one hand and a Warhammer in the other. He also carries a Mighty( +3) composite longbow, a masterwork longsword (symbol of the Ezran Faith), and conceals a sickle on his person.

The party's secondary fighter, Marriette D'Fanchon is a Wilder 14 / Psychic Warrior 1 wielding a Guisarme when she's not using Energy Ray and Ego Whip.

The party's arcane spellcaster, Minzeelia Raskolka, is a Half-Vistani Giogoto 3 / Blood Witch 12, who wields her summoned witchblade in battle, which takes the form of a wounding Greatsword made of her own blood and sinew.

The party's archer and crafter, is a mix of Ranger and Hexsmith (variant of Rokugan Master Smith), wielding a high-tension metal composite longbow, and a Legendary-quality bastardsword called Child-killer which he seldom uses in combat. He's looking to Re-forge the weapon anew in such a way as to remove the stain of blood put their by the former Duke Gundar.

Lastly, the party's Cleric never used a weapon, and recently has undergone some changes that may have removed her ability to cast spells...only she and her husband, the DM, know exactly what has happened in or out of game.

Earlier in the campaign, we also had a Bard/Assassin who specialized in poison daggers, a Ranger/Noble who used a shortbow and light flails (not to mention her Cat companion), and a Sorceror/Barbarian/Rage Mage who used a longsword.

All in all, I've still got the most insane weapon choice. Thank you Ambidexterity, (Improved) Two Weapon Fighting, Monkey Grip, and Massive Two-Weapon Fighting.

In my last regular campaign--a semi-one shot deal as our DM who now works in Idaho was back for a day and wanted to finish off the introductory arc of the campaign he'd started before he moved:

Human Monk 13: fists

Human Fighter/Rogue (I think Ftr 9/Rog 4): Special adamantine claws with the stats of non-erratted bladed gauntlets (3.0) and a couple enhancements

Paladin 5/Hunter of the Dead 8: Holy Greatsword

Fighter 1/Hexblade 12: Holy flail and holy composite longbow

Sorcerer/Incantatrix 13 total: spells.

Rogue/Cleric/Church Inquisitor/Shadowbane Stalker total 13: after the DM finally got back to me on the appropriate deities in the world, we settled on Athena and he wields a Lancea from the Player's Guide to Arcanis

In the campaign we took a one-week break from:

Human Fighter 2/Ranger 2/Rogue 4: longsword and composite longbow

Human Fighter 7/Order of the Bow Initiate 1: Composite longbow and heavy flail

Human Mnk 1/Rogue 7: fists

Human Bard 8: spells and song; currently borrowing a rapier from my fighter/rogue

Human or half-elf (I'm not quite sure which): Druid 8--weapons: longsword, flame strike, and summoned animals.

And, in the last living game I played:

Human Fighter/wizard/spellsword/eldritch knight 17 total: guisarme, longsword, and spells

Human Wizard/Divine Oracle/Fatespinner 17 total: spells and a quarterstaff (used once or twice in 17 levels)

Human ranger/shadowdancer 16 total: shortspear, longsword, and an insane hide skill

Human Cleric/Contemplative 15: Spells--but I think he may have a mace somewhere.

Hrm. Our current party.

Hill Dwarf Rog3/Clr1: Morningstar and Shortsword, Crossbow

Hill Dwarf Fighter 4: Dwarven WarAxe, MW Mighty Composite Longbow +2

Human Cleric 4: Longsword, Mighty Composite Longbow +1

Here's the Group I'm DMing and their primary weapons:

Elf Cleric (Knowledge/Travel): Magic Spear

Half-Elf/Human Ranger: Magic Short Bow ("The Bow of Many Means")

Human Fighter: Magic Great Sword

Human Fighter: Magic Longsword ("The Sword of Ultimate Fire")

Elf Sorcerer/Fighter: Magic Wands and Spells

The group I'm DMing in my Eberron campaign, 5th-6th level:

Onyx, warforged fighter 5/cleric 1. Preferred weapon: longsword + slam + bite, but will adjust as necessary to the situation.
Ynos, elven druid 6. Preferred weapon: animal companion (ape). Preferred personal weapon: intelligent double-scimitar.
Ilmeron, elven rogue 5. Preferred weapon: rapier and composite short bow.
Megel, halfling sorcerer 5. Preferred weapon: spells. Occasionally throws boomerangs when out of spells.
Kanatash, kalashtar soulknife 6. Preferred weapon: mindblade (duh).
Orgo, shifter fighter/monk (not sure of exact level mix, but total 6). Preferred weapon: grapple with armor spikes.

Last session, a new player joined with a 5th level human cleric, but I can't recall the PC's name at the moment. Pretty sure he favors the mace when it comes to physical combat, though.

The group in the story hour link in my sig includes

aelfborn bard 8, wields a +1 shapechanger-bane longsword
human abjurer 3/cleric 3/mystic theurge 2, wields a quarterstaff
human barbarian 4/ranger 4, wields a +1 giantbane greataxe
human cleric 8, wields a +1 holy heavy mace
human druid 7
human fighter 4/paladin 2/kensai 1

The other group I run includes

aelfborn druid 8, wields a +1 scimitar
human unfettered 5/dervish 1, wields a +1 acidic scimitar
human warlock 7

As you can see, we're not very imaginative with the weapons. :)
