What would Batman do if Gotham City was invaded by another country?

Interestingly, in the newest issue of Batman/Superman (which I picked up yesterday), Batman kills Ra's. They are trying to fix their timeline, so he figures it will go back to normal. As he's doing it, he asks himself if murdering someone in a dream is murder.

Note that it's by Jeph Loeb, just like Hush is. It is interesting that "the line" is so clearly drawn in Hush and then not so clear in this story.

Yes, but Batman didn't kill him, he was going to leave him paralyzed.

i thought Batman was trying to kill him? but he just didnt have the physical strength left to do it ~ but the Joker took his loosening grip to mean that he had decided not to kill him so killed himself

As far as limiting who you will kill, thats sort of an oymoron. 'Ill kill, but only monsotrous humanoids'. Killing is killing, period. Now if you really want a challenge look at the book of exalted deeds. The have a vow of peace (will not do any harm to anyone no matter what), and a vow of non-violence (will not kill, only subdual damage) They give you some pretty nice bonuses, but are only recommended for...experienced role players as they are akin to paladin powers, I.E. you can loose them.

the only instance I have ever seen of batman intentionally killing someone was in DKR (m-60 blows away a gangmember) but does that really count as its more of an alternate universe sorta thing.

Totally. And people say Batman doesn't kill. I can't even imagine how many innocent bugs get slaughtered on the windshield of the Batmobile. That murderer. I wonder if he's even aware that with every bite of a chicken sandwich (or piece of celery for that matter) Batman supports that which he most hates.

Is killing Ra's Al Ghul murder though? The guy doesn't die, his minions always take him to a Lazarus Pit. Remember in Hush that he left Ra's with a sword through his chest!
