What would happen if you put a sphere of annihilation in a bag of holding?

once you figure out how to get the sphere into the bag, come back and ask again. a bag of holding is 2' wide. so is the sphere of annihilation. not much room fo error i'd say. :)

Easy, craft a larger bag or a smaller sphere. :D

The answer to this question is terribly simple...

What ahppens when you put a Sphere of Annihilation inside a Bag of Holding or Portable Hole? The DM reaches across the table and throttles you for making him have to figure out the answer! :)

angry members who werent logged in, stalk you down, and sacrifice you to the god of chaos and d00m.

This is so simple. You get sucked into the Sphere for being stupid enough to grab a hold of it to put it into your bag of holding. :D

Well, technically

It annihilates the bag. Remember, any sharp object in a bag of holding can pierce the bag and ruin it. Even if you are careful putting it in. So, sphere goes in bag, sphere finds some way to contact surface of bag, probably by annihilating everything else in the bag on its way. Then, no more bag!

Now the question becomes, does the sphere remain outside the prime material, come back to the prime material, just make a big nasty explosion so the DM doesn't have to deal with this ever again, what?

dunno. you'd have to answer another question before you can answer this one. does the extra-dimensional space associated with the bag of holding disappear if the bag is destroyed? or are they two separate entities, with the bag being just a portal to that extra-dimensional space?

in the former, the sphere would probably wink out of existence along with the extra-dimensional space. of course, it is a minor artifact. maybe it'll reappear at a random place on the prime material plane? in the latter, i'd think the sphere would be trapped forever in the now-orphaned extra-dimensional space.
