What would lloth have to do to get the drow to turn on her?

thank you for your replys everyone. So I have another question if no one minds... How could one move most of the drow society to from evil to neutral? I figure the first thing that needs to be done is to turn away from Lloth. At first i was thinking she could do something so evil to the drow (or to somebody else) that the drow would give up Lloth and make a tiny shift towards good. but now I am not sure. I guess that question could be asked of any evil people. How can an evil people take a small step towards neutrality?

most everyones responses were very good. thanks

Well ... one possible way would be the mass conversion of the Drow to Elistraee.

I don't think the route of doing something so evil would work ... that's just an intense variation on an already present theme in the society. But to shift whole societies OUTSIDE of the old paradigm or theme might work. It is very possible that much of the evil in the society is simply a result of breeding. Change the upbringing patterns ... and? ... :)

Elistraee would also have to show some sort of protection for her flock, I would guess. At least for the weak in faith to be strengthened in their newfound values early on.

But this is just off the top of my head....

An entire culture just up and change their culture? That would take a very, very long time without some sort of extremely powerful magic. I would honestly just change what drow are in the campaign, not have them change within the campaign.

1/ Kill all of the grown ups.

2/ Educate the children to be good, and not evil.

3/ Profit!

I disagree with Agamon. All it would take is one of Lolth's traditional "Do this to serve me" statements that turned into a disaster, and caused the deaths of a ton of drow, and a Saviour from Elistraee to preach the new way. It'd be the perfect time for a coup.

You don't teach Lolth how to coup.

Hasn't it already happened twice? An adventuring group of significant individual strength and "pull" with others could help Vhaerun or Elistraee out and they could take over drow society, much in the way that insurgents are funded by outside groups to overthrow enemy governments.
Ah, I can see it now, a new Drow deity called Mujahideen.
