Here are some bad ideas:

5th Edition, 12th printing.

5th Edition 2.

Dungeons and Dragons. (no numbers or anything)

5th Edition, "5E"

5th Edition, Forgotten Realms Edition.

2e + 3.

+1 5th Edition.

5th Edition featuring Dante from Devil May Cry.

My first thought was PF2E...;)

Seriously, you could go for something like:
  • 5Expert - thus 5XP
  • 5e proficient rules - shortened to 5e-pro
  • 5e Master Set

Going on how WotC have titles many of the 5e books, you could use a well known D&D character to name them Otiluke or Rary’s Enhanced Guide (thus “OEG” or “REG”)

Well, that was fun

Is it an add on idea or a rewrite?

I've been working on a rough hybrid game off and on for years. It uses micro feats and is kind of a hybrid of 5E and B/X with microfeats.

Something like the 3.5 Unearthed Arcana I suppose. Lots of crunchy options or subsystems to expand the current 5E rules.

Or something like the old 2E High Level Campaigns to toughen the monsters up.

How different are we talking about. 1 being not very, 5 being a .5 edition and 10 being a new edition?
There’s a link in the OP.

As a stand alone (sorry missed that bit), how about:
  • 5th Way
  • Cinq (a nod to chivalry)
  • Pendragon (a merger of pentagon and dragon, with allusion to King Arthur)

5e+ The plus is rather open-ended and can mean a lot of different things. I thought 5e 'squared' but couldn't get the raised 2 to fit.
