What would you like to see for 2006 on ENWorld?

I don't understand why we have avatars at all. I don't see what larger user avatars will do besides making messages take up more space. And with the gigantic sigs, etc. already, that's really not something I want to see.

I think they are kind of fun. Besides, I'd settle for the user defined ones being as large as the ones you can find in the standard kit. Or the size of the ones Spoony Bard is using for that matter :p

There's also an option to turn off avatars...

One thing I've seen that helpful on other boards is that all moderator names are in a certain color.

There's still no way to make posts from someone on your ignore list simply not show up, period, is there?

I could deal with avatars of the size Spoony is using. Not much bigger than that.

I like to see some sigs, but there are others that have gotten too large. Is there a way to limit the size of a sig?

One thing I'd like to see is "unread threads" being kept track of on a thread-to-thread basis (like on NTL), rather than on a "time last visited" basis. Currently, brief visits to the ENWorld forums are discouraged, because if you do pop in and just read a few threads and then have to go do something else, when you get back everything will be marked read.

A Shrubbery.
More Gratuitous Nudity.
A Pony.
Another Pony.

In all seriousness, a dropdown menu that could take you between different boards instead of having to go back to the index would be nice.

Do you mean like the button on the right at the bottom of a thread page called "Forum Jump? It shows you what forum you are in. Click it and it opens up and allows you to jump to whatever forum you want. I use it all the time.

Hardly a priority, but how about a way to reduce accidental threadcromancy?

Say, you click on quote or reply, and if the thread is older than, say, 3 months, instead of going directly to the Reply to Thread screen, show a warning screen
"The thread you want to reply to has been inactive for over X months. Unless it is important that you use this thread, it might be better to start a new thread.
[Continue to Reply] [Nevermind]"

And maybe this thing I've found on other forums and which is nifty:
HTML:
<td class='pformleft'><b>Upload a picture on ImageShack</b></td>
<td class='pformright'>
 <iframe src="http://www.imageshack.us/iframe.php?txtcolor=FFFFCC"
 scrolling="no" frameborder="0" width="280" height="70">Your browser
 needs iframe support enabled for this feature.</iframe>
</td>
<tr>

It allows, as anyone can see, to upload a pic on ImageShack's servers, meaning less bandwidth and server space used by ENWorld than if the pic were attached to the post.
