What would you like to see for 2006 on ENWorld?

I'd like to see a views count on reviews. I for one would like to know if anyone bothers to read any of the reviews I write.

Cheers,
Vurt

I'll second that one! It helps to know you're not writing to open space.

How about this?

As things currently stand, when a very long thread appears on the front page, it gives options for pages 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, (or thereabouts) and then "...last page."

I'd like for that "last page" notation to be replaced with the actual page number. When trying to follow a long and fast-growing thread, it's frustrating to click on "last page" only to discover that you've missed two pages of comments since the last time you were there. A page number would tell us how far things have progressed since previous visits.

I know that I, personally, would get a great deal of use if we added a little button on the Quick Reply next to the Quote Tag button that does SBLOCK tags, since I use both Quick Reply and SBLOCK quite a bit, perhaps in the majority of my posts. Colours on the Quick Reply would also be wonderful, although I know those are already accessible in the New Reply page.

One thing I'd like to see is "unread threads" being kept track of on a thread-to-thread basis (like on NTL), rather than on a "time last visited" basis. Currently, brief visits to the ENWorld forums are discouraged, because if you do pop in and just read a few threads and then have to go do something else, when you get back everything will be marked read.
I'd like that too.

I'd quite like to see review feedback entries - just a rating - either useful/not or a scale of 1-5 as its rare to get review feedback.

Keyword-based ignore lists.

A "my favorite threads" page that is dynamically generated based on which threads you viewed or posted into over your last X visits. Like your subscribed threads page, but passive (for the the user) and you're not actually subscribed to the threads -- they are just consolidated into one place. (Cf. "the page you made" on Amazon.com )

Add the Forum Jump tool to the top of the message board pages as well as the bottom. Cuts down on scrolling.

Also, how about a non-d20 RPG section? As in, have a D&D General, a d20/OGL, and a non-d20 RPG General (as well as all the other current ones)? Unless this really goes against the spirit of the site somehow, I think it would be a useful addition, personally.

Seconded, as we now have a d20 news and a General RPG news page, I think this idea makes sense.

a way to add private forum mods to ignore list.

It is now possible to add mods to your ignore list.

However, do so at your peril. If you don't see a mod's instructions because you've ignored him, that's too bad. We won't accept that as an excuse. With the hosted forum mods, etc., you shouldn't have any such problems.

YES. That has been on my gripe list from the day I joined up here.
