Iced Earth is getting the majority of play time. It's a concept album, dealing with warfare and combat throughout history. Jon Shaffer (guitarist/song-writer) is a huge history buff and has written songs about a variety of topics, from the War of Independence ('Declaration Day') to the Wild West ('The Reckoning'), from Attila the Hun ('Attila') to the Red Baron ('Red Baron/Blue Max'). The last three songs, though, deal with the Civil War and are collectively titled 'Gettysburgh' ('The Devil To Pay', 'Hold At All Costs', and 'High Water Mark'). It's an amazing album and is made even better by the presence of Tim 'Ripper' Owens handling vocals (for those that don't know, he's the one that replaced Rob Halford when the latter left Judas Priest).
Whoa. That was longer than I expected.
