what's on tap for spidey sequel

I heard that Tobey McGuire received 5 mil for the first movie, and contratced to $23 mil for the next two movies (11.5 mil each)

that guarantees that spiderman is coming out with at least two sequels.

What do you think will be the plot of the next two?

the way the movie was set up, the only two viable stroy lines is Doc Oc (if it was him) being pissed for being blasted at Quest ent. and Doc Connors getting into a genetic accident in the lab and becoming the Lizard.

In part 2, they can have a shuttle launch as a subplot, which would set up Venom in #3.

All the while, an ongoing plot of Harry and the evil within can finally take form in #4, or even as soon as #3 (if the Venom does not carry through)

but, considering the way they butchered teh GG, making him a crazy maniac in a suit instead of a chemical freak, I think they will forego the venom story, and go to shocker- a Hitman with advanced electical weaponry

or even the Punisher... ooh punisher......

Of course morbius is also a great sory, but rquires too much background to introduce... and his jeckyl/hyde forms is hard to do. But they did such a great job with Osborne (my fav scene was when he was arguing with himself in the mirror) that they will pull this off- if they decide to do it...

I think they set up Harry Osbourne becoming the next green goblin at the end of Spiderman rather well.

However that probably won't carry as the entire plot, the movie makers even if using Harry as the green goblin will feel the need to introduce another villian.

I think Dr. Octopus is likely. The other spiderman villians either aren't epic enough for a movie (Rhino, Kraven, Mysterio) too similar (Hobgoblin), or require a great deal of setup (Venom, Carnage),
 



I'm betting that Harry Osbourne will play an integral background role setting up a Green Goblin return for the third film. Peter was fired by Connors in this film, leading me to believe that the Lizard is a strong candidate for Spidey 2.

As for Venom taking too much set-up time, I disagree. Look at how much time and material was covered in the opening five minutes of LotR. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Venom make an appearance in the next movie, even if only a brief cameo to foreshadow the third film.

Huh? The venom suit was gotten as part of the Secret Wars series. And there is no way that can be done in a movie, you'd need a ten hour mini series at least.

Yeah, but there are other ways to implement the suit. Take, for instance, the Fox Spider-Man cartoon.

When they get it right in the comics, it's a shame that they feel the need to change it. Any other way will cheapen it for those of us who know how it truely happened.
 

I forgot where I heard this rumor but for what it's worth here it is:

The villains in SM 2 were going to be:

1. Doctor Octopus

2. Lizard or the Sandman

My bet is on Doc Oct and the Lizard.

Reguardless of who the next villian/villians is/are they are going to have to do some background to set them up.

spidermanhype.com has a countdown clock which reads 724 days till SM 2
 

I'm really hoping for Doc Oct. He's simple to set up, they did that in less then one comic book. He's also the former of the Sinster Six which would make a great Spiderman 5!!
