So it was useless scarasm, and you admit that. I'm sorry I thought you might have actually been trying to make a point.mmu1 said:Hey, you're finally right about one thing... As for the rest, go look up the definition of "straw-man", sarcasm directed at someone's dumb idea isn't it.
mmu1 [/i]And if you don't like things getting personal said:Good point, my bad... That means your only actual contribution to the thread is pointing out something contrived and painfully obvious - "Anything can be a challenge if the circumstances are unusual enough." Sorry for giving you too much credit.
Take a look at colossal zombie. A CR 12 any decent, no any archer can kill if they have enough arrows. Declare that the zombie isn't a challenge, I dare you.
My point is that a large number of kobolds can be danger to higher level parties. This is supported in the rules, as EL of multiple opponents. Where is rule support to the contrary? Contrived situation and assumption of player resources/strategies.
I keep posting rules, you keep posting comments like the above. You want to keep the pointless retoric going, go ahead. I'm amused by it.mmu1 said:Wow, is that the crushing "No, you are!" argument? "I know, I'll say he isn't following the rules, then people will miss all those posts I've made talking about automatic outcomes!"
You want to make this into a personal insult war, go ahead. But I will not do that here. Email me directly and we will start discussing your parentage.
mmu1 said:I hope none of my DMs get as "creative" as you are, it'd be awkward if I fell asleep during a game session.
It isn't something you would do, so it must be creative. And given your passion on the subject, I doubt you would fall asleep.
Alienation, a nice tatic. But I am far more stuborn than that. Ask Hypersmurf. I am also not alone. I have green slime and the EL guidelines backing me up. You are the one arguing that rules should tossed out, or did you forget that amidst your "shouting the same tired crap".mmu1 said:And, heh... "All evidence to the contrary?" Look around, bub, you're practically by yourself out here, shouting the same tired crap in response no matter how many ways people try to get through to you.
Funny, that was what I thought your strategy was in this situation. Thanks for clarifing that point.mmu1 said:But remember, "No, you are!" is your friend, if people get bored with trying to reason with you and go away, you win!
I have lost arguements before, and will in the future. But no one has given me any reason to believe I am wrong on this. Others try to show how kobolds in large numbers can be the danger that is described in the rules. You and your fellows keep blaming circumstance, allies, class levels, and traps for the majority of the challenge. I come up with statistical evidence that kobolds with appropriate gear can cause a lot of damage. You respond "it would never happen". I wonder if you believe avoiding all encounters is what gets you XP.
I look forward to your next angry reply. I need something to keep me amused.
