Whats the Exotic Weapon Master?

Supposed to be a PC in the masters of the wild. I have a player asking if he can be one (Kinda funny since he doesn't know what it does). Does anyone know what this PC is?

The proper response is, "Show me the prestige class, and I'll decide whether I want it in my game." This is true of prestige classes from the internet, from 3rd party publishers, and from WotC books.

To ask whether you will allow it before EITHER of you have seen it indicates one of two things: 1> He's stuck on the name and really couldn't care about the rules or 2> He's got an inside track on the information, and is afraid you won't allow it after you've seen it.

In case 1> you risk -strongly- having him change his mind once he's seen it.

In case 2> you risk putting a prestige class you don't like in, sight unseen.

It's like a 3 level PrC from MotW that lets you become proficent in like all weapons, so you can pick up a brick or a chair and kill orcs with 'em.

The "word on the street" is that it gives profiociency on level 1, Weapon Focus on level 2, and Weapon Specialization on level 3 - for all exotic weapons.

With supposed high requirements, it dosn't sound bad, but not overpowered, either.

According to a poster on the WotC boards who has an advance copy of MotW:

Exotic Weaponmaster prereqs:
Base Attack Bonus: +6
Feats: Any three exotic weapon feats.

Those requirements aren't high at all. With Proficiency, Focus, and Specialization with *all* exotic weapons, this class will definitely be one for the munchkins. It's a 3 level PrC which also grants them the ability to use improvised weapons.

(The scooper notes that his copy is indeed an advance copy, so some information might have changed by the final draft.)

The requirements are three feats that will be completely wasted once you take the class - that's harsher than the dwarven defender!

I wouldn't much worry about it; 3 feats is quite a price to pay for such flexibility.

Or one level of monk. All 3 of the monk special weapons are exotic weapons, as is the Shuriken.

But that doesn't mean that the monk took three Exotic Weapon feats. There is a big difference between having them on your class weapon list and taking the feats. The difference is that the requirement is the EWP feats, not simply being proficient in 3 exotic weapons. Big diff, there Big C. :)

Well, not necessarily.

Isn't there a rule that says that if a character has an ability that emulates a feat, they can be considered to meet a feat prerequisite?

For example, can't a monk take feats with a "Stunning Fist feat" prerequisite by virtue of the Stunning Attack class ability, or feats with an "Improved Unarmed Strike feat" prerequisite with their Unarmed Strike class ability?
