Whats the most you've spent on dice..

I think the last time I bought dice I spent about $30 for about half a dozen sets. I'd never spend more than $5 for a single die. Certainly not $100. Well, if I could use it to determine the outcomes of events in real life maybe. :) "Roll a grocery shopping check against DC 10. Oooh a 20! Everything you want to buy is on sale, has been moved to the same aisle, and there's no line at the checkout."

I have this thing lately of wanting to have a new set of dice for each character. Ideally two for each character, one primary and one backup. Ideally the colors should reflect on some element of the character, like yellows and oranges for a Lathanderite priest, or greens and browns for an elven archer.

Thats just what my wife does, and lately she's been insisting on a new pair of shoes with every character too, adn they have all become suicidal.. hmmmmm

I spent, IIRC, $30 + shipping on a set of 7 dice... made of pewter.

That I've used less than a dozen times in the year that I've owned them. *sigh*

Nope, feel the same....how much did I spend on a die?!?!?!?!?

:p

hmm,

I spend 70 dollars on a set of 16mm dwarven stone dice.

I also spend about 45 dollars on dice (a lot of the same colour) to have a play set.

I spend 45 dollars on a dice bag.

But the worste thing jet is that I did bid 260 dollars on a single dice and lost it becouse on the last second somebody did bid 5 dollars more then me. (I still hate that, I would love to have that dice). It was about 2000 year old, made out of ivory and that for a single d6.

I guess I spend in total about 400 dollars on dice, I hope my new dice bag can keep that amount :p

Actually, I consider the $100 on the die I bought a real bargain . . .

But that's because I wasn't just buying a die. I was buying my wife a piece of a dream.

She always wanted to be an astronaut growing up. She loved astronomy and science. Her room was decorated in a space theme. And her first big purchase (which took her more than a year to save for) was a telescope. It was her dream.

Now, it is extremely unlikely she'll ever actually get into space. We probably won't ever have the money to be a space tourist. But via the meteorite die (she is also a gamer), a little bit of outer space has come to her.

What price can you put on a piece of a dream?
