I'd did something similar in item creation with minor major etc.
Mine was craft trivial(bad name but I didn't have a thesaurus with me) craft items of GP cost 1-10000. Craft minor, craft items 10,001-50000, craft major, craft items 50,001-100000, craft supreme items, craft items 100001-200000gp in value.
Pre-reqs were trivial 3rd level, minor 5th level, and trivial, major 9th level and minor, supreme 12th level and major.
I kept scrolls and potions as separate feats, thier low cost would of virtually guaranteed them stayingin in trivial which I felt would amke it too broad.
