Me too. The Dervish 3e PrC was built for scimitars.

Well, yeah, they needed a PrC to build Drizzt! :D I kid, I kid...

Nah, scimitars get the benefit of Heavy Blade Opportunity too. They get all the options that a longsword would get, plus Scimitar Dance.

I wouldn't mind if it was just Blade Flurry or Blade Dance (and applied to any heavy blade).

Actually, I wouldn't either. But here's a question -- does it bother you that the glaive, halberd and long spear can benefit from two weapon feats also?

Truth be told, though, I think Heavy Blade Opportunity is probably among the more exploitable feats out there, and it's certainly the one I'd be more concerned about.

I mean... twin strike on an opportunity attack? Or cut and run? Tide of Iron? That has the potential to get out of hand real quickly, seems to me. (Still in heroic tier here, so I haven't seen it in practice, just on paper, so take that with a grain of salt)

Anyway, that's its own thread. Sorry to derail.

Nope. I actually find them a bit lacking without threatening reach, though I understand why that was removed. For those particular weapons, I support dual feat access.

Actually, the halberd and glaive can benefit from 3 weapon feats: Polearm Gambit, Spear Push (which also works with polearms), and then the axe or heavy blade feats.

Well, they don't benefit from Eladrin Soldier. And they're not Versatile.

But they are High-Crit, which is frankly better than Versatile at mid to high levels.

I guess they're balanced a bit by being merely +2 rather than +3.

A scimitar is just a sabre. A heavy curved wide bladed sword is a Shamshir. A falchion is like a fat machete. There is a big difference between them.

Hammer Rhythm. Same feat, but with hammers. Let's see what else we can find in the paragon tier.

Deadly Axe, Heavy Blade Opportunity, Light Blade Precision, Polearm Gamble, Spear Push, Sweeping Flail...

It looks to me like they're just trying to make weapons of different types "feel" different in play, above and beyond just what powers a fighter chooses. A curved blade handles differently than a straight blade, so it deserves its own category (apparently).
Which it actually doesn't. A scimitar is still considered a heavy blade, so it can take both Blade Opportunity and scimitar dance (making it the only weapon with 2 feats)
