What's your favorite monster book?

Fiend Folio is great, the one reason why it wins over the 3.5 MM is because it lists which monsters can be summoned by which summon monster spell. It's great (allthough it doesn't always make sense... but it's still WoTC so )

My favourite monster books are the Monsternomicon and the new Fiend Folio. I've bought Tome of Horrors because so many people sang its praises, but for me it is dry, banal, flavorless and unimaginative. I have no use for it.

My vote goes for Tome of Horrors, followed by anything demons and fiends related. Especialy Book of Fiends.

I really think nothing beats the basic Monster Manual. I tried to use creatures from other sources, but I couldn't dig more than a couple per books or little more. The only other source I was able to use in its larger part is the Manual of the Planes, which is not a monster book but have only good entries.

I only have the 3.5 MM, so that gets the cake. I don't really need anything else. I will get the fiend folio when I get back to Italy, though.

A friend of mine got the Ravenloft compendium, but I have only skimmed through it (it looks good, but I just don't need it).

Monsters & Treasure Assortment Levels 1-3, 4-6, and 7-9. i know that's three. they did a combination one for levels 1-9. but i prefer them separately.

1e Fiend Folio

with 3.5 I think that the MM is a staple, but is an improvement on the 3e version, otherwise Tome of Horrors is good.

The 3.5 Monster Manual leads the pack, followed closely by the 3.5 Fiend Folio (now with 100% LESS Lava Children).
