I've always had a fondness for Hypnotic pattern, the duration is flexable and if you have a rogue in the group....

My runner up would be Jump, it's just fun.

Excellent! Thanks. I got it and devoured it. It was great. I liked Fireball more than Magic Missile. I think it was the more crunch: hitting the pea, and two variants, and the alternate casting component. Firebuds is great: I might ask my DM let me have that as my next sorcerer spell.

I look forward to more. At $1 each, I'll have to wait for five of them to get around the RPGNow limit. (Or I could buy more off my wish list, like I did to get Magic Missile.)

I don't have a particular *favorite* since I tend to use a lot of different ones for different circumstances. But I remember distinctly the best use of a single spell to kill an encounter that I've ever done:

Prismatic Wall. - Because ships don't have brakes.

Dispel Magic. Excellent spell.

(Though no one's mentioned Invisibility so far. That's my hands down favorite spell as a DM - invisible attackers, yeah!)
