What's your favorite takeout?

X has absolutely to-die-for burgers and fries. Sadly, they're like three hours away from me :(

X converted me to New York-style pizza. My Pirates of the Spanish Main group and I often stop by Monday nights after playing.

X restaurant is a great Chinese/Japanese place. I only ever get the Chinese, though. They've got this delicious home-made brown sauce that's garlicky, tangy, spicy, and just all kinds of yummy.

I guess there's only one place around me that qualifies as take-out and is not a chain and that is Egg Roll Express.

Best Chinese food ever that is not a buffet. That and they have actual egg rolls rather than spring rolls that many places around here use and call egg rolls. For things like Pizza and Mexican I'll have to say Papa Johns and Taco Bueno. Both chains, but they make the best in their respective fields for take out.

Not a lot of mom & pop joints in my part of Dallas, and it sucks I know.

Sadly, this is the case in our area too. The town I live in is like the definition of suburb: population doubling in less than ten years. It's all strip malls and chains. No places to walk. Very few independent stores of anything.

My favorite take-out, Yats, started in the cool bohemian part of town (Broad Ripple) but recently expanded out into the burbs so us lame wageslaves can partake as well.

But it's not all bad. I just won lunch for ten people at Yats from a business card fishbowl thing.

Joy!
