I bought the book because I read the novels. A lot of the art is really good. It beats the crap that's in the Big Book of Bad Art any day (yeah, you know the one). The Moiraine picture is particularly nice.
Will I ever get around to playing/running it? Doubtful. I can't even get all the players around at the same time for D&D or D20M. Most of them haven't read the books and don't own the rules. I can tell you one thing right now; I wouldn't let those monkeys touch my book in a million years.
As far as the novels go; They were great in the beginning, then they started to slow down. Winter's Heart and Crossroads of Twilight were basically a crime against the fans. I still love the setting though.
Here's hoping that the upcoming Knife of Dreams makes up for the rut the books have been in as of late.
