I think the argument that the book is two years old is faulty. I only started reading the series a couple months ago and am only on book 6. I plan on reading all of them as soon as I can. Spoiler warnings would have been nice.

It really depends on the forum. Spoiler warnings are approriate when it's likely that a significant percentage of those who are interested in looking at a thread haven't read the book/scene the movie/whatever. ENWorld isn't a Wheel of Time-specific forum; most people here, even if they drop in on a Wheel of Time thread, probably haven't read all nine novels and New Spring. So spoiler warnings for the newer novels are probably approriate -- especially since the RPG has non-trivial spoilers for the first seven books, but only very mild ones for the eigth and none for the ninth. But on WotC's d20 Wheel of Time boards, only Winter's Heart and the e-prologue to Crossroads of Twilight get spoiler warnings. And on sites or newsgroups devoted to the novels, rather than the RPG, only the e-prologue to Crossroads of Twilight is protected.
