When 3.0 books become obsolete...

Quick question,

For those who will buy the 3.5 books, what will you do with your 3.0 books? Keep them? Sell them? Make origami swan out of them? Burn them all?

my 3e phb has been pretty battered, so i was in the market for a new one anyway. I'm gonna hold off on the dmg and monster manual for a little while though.

Keep mine, and leave them with my parents and younger brother (all gamers) when I go to grad school, taking 3.5e and all non-core books with me.

How essential will it be to have the new books? As someone who's just about to start playing and has all the 3.0 stuff, should I feel inclined to now go buy the 3.5 books?

Same thing I do with the old editions of all my RPGs (except Ars Magica) -give them away to a new player. Helps them out, and makes me feel like a nice person! (When your Auld and Grumpy that is a feeling to be cherished...)

Well, the question was directed towards those who WILL change their books. Of course if you're not going to upgrade (I won't, I'm just hoping i'll score some cheap books at the local game store for my cheap friends), you'll be keeping your books. :)

I suppose they'll take their place of honor on the shelf next to my 2e and 1e books.

Heh. I have a place of honor next to my 1e stuff, and a place of "out of the way" next to my 2e stuff.

They'll probably go with the 2e, just for space reasons.
