When looking for players...

Coming from a women's perspective - it's just creepy. I'd say 90% of the guys I've known that are of the wolf-shirt-wearing-club are more than just a little off-putting. It's one of those red flags that, when I am approached by a man I don't know, immediately flies high.

Maybe it's just a weird thing that only I find strange/creepy. *shrugs*
Ok, well I guess I understand that. I fall prey to a lot of unfair stereotyping like that, for some reason. ;)

I just had to go through this experience; in addition to the other online resources people have recommended, I highly recommend AccessDenied. The best players I found online I found through that service.

However, I ultimately found, in Toronto, what I found in Vancouver: gamers are easier to make than to find. The first place you should start looking for players is your non-gaming friends. Many will be willing to give RPGs a whirl and will be pleasantly surprised by how fun they are.

I'm having a similar but opposite problem: finding a game to join. I live in Manchester NH, the largest city in the state and can't find a game... I've posted on-line and put up fliers, no luck. It's rather frustrating. The closest I can find a group is almost an hour away. And I really hate driving as it is... I just want to play... *sigh*
