When was the Player's Handbook sent off for Printing?

I think you're getting your wires crossed, Joe.

The books normally get sent off to printing only a couple of months before they become available. The PHB may need a little more time, but not much more.

Rather they were trying to pin it down for the latest round of playtests.

Cheers,
Merric

You mean "when will WotC send the PHB to the printers." It's way too early to print the final product, especially when it did not undergo editing and playtesting stages.

Based on the EN World front page scoop, the 4e developers have submitted their final draft of PHB.

It'd be kind of crazy to send it off to print now; they'd have to warehouse tens or hundreds of thousands of hardback books for weeks or months, until it came time to ship them to distributors. That would be a good way to waste a lot of money.

Depends on how long the boat from China is. Unless they're doing local printing.

Who needs editing? That would just spoil the sales of the second printing.
