Where are the WotC Spell Templates?

When is WotC going to start offering spell templates for the DDM line to the general public (especially for use in RPGs vs. mini games). It's great that retailers and tournament winners get them, but what about the rest of us? I've been forced to look at 3rd party products, meaning WotC is missing the boat on this one...

Interesting, but WAY overpriced. No thanks. Paper/cardboard templates are fine with me. Maybe laminated. For $20, WotC should be able to make a pack of templates covering almost all of the common templates needed.

Pretty much my thinking. Paper templates work fine (maybe with a hole in the center for radial effects). Transparent plastic would be even better.

I like the idea of the wire templates. You don't have to pick up all the minis and then plunk them back down. But wire's expensive, apparently. How about some nice die-pressed plastic outline templates? Are you listening, WotC?

Actually, I find that erasable marker works just fine for me.

Join the RPGA. Three times per year, if you've DMed 20 points worth of adventures, you get a plastic spell template. (And promo minis).

If you just DMed homebrew adventures 1/week, you'd accumulate about 17 points per mailing. Just add one Mark of Heroes or published adventure (or a couple of Dungeon magazine adventures) to bring it up to 20 points.

Cheers!
