Where be the single-classed goodness?

Which of these would you play purely single-classed?

Any class I'm interested in playing, I'm willing to play single-class. Thus, the only ones I didn't vote for are those that either

A) I don't know enough about to know if I'd want to play them, or
B) I have no interest in playing at all.

Since I only use the core classes and the four from the XPH, I voted for all of them. Theres no reason not to go single class all the way.

I agree with those above in that I could play all the classes I am familiar with (those not in PHB II, Complete Psi,Magic of Incarnum, Tome of Magic, or Eberron Setting) but I only voted for the ones where I am not particularly tempted to multiclass.

I voted Barbarian, Cleric, Monk, Paladin, and Sohei. For me, those classes can show a very clear concept, without the need to specialise necessarily. I love playing Rogues, but I inevitably want to specialise the character (dungeon delving, or acrobatics, or stealth, for example).

It's funny, most of them are religious types. Even my Barbarians tend to be very spiritual... ah well. :)

This has ended up with me voting for any class that I'd feasibly want to play. Sometimes I'd want to play a single classed fighter for some concepts. For other concepts I might want to have PrCs and the like for my fighter. It's a long list, as a result! I've not voted for the CW Samurai, because I don't think I will feasibly want to play that!

Okay, assume we make it clear to 20th level. I'd have to go with the Knight. Why? easy answer: nigh-immortality.

The knight's "loyal beyond Death" ability allows him to continue fighting, reguardless of how many hit points he's lost, just as long as he keeps spending challenge points for every round he's on his feet. At 20th level, a knight should have 20 challenges, plus everything from their charisma. That could translate for fighting as if they were still alive for two stright minutes. In my experience, most fights end before 10 rounds are even expended. If it's bad enough for the 20th level knight (with d12 hit dice) to go into the negatives, It's gonna be a "final stand" type encounter, and it's good to be able to finally stand for a good, long time.

Cleric?!

I'm amazed cleric is currently the highest choice...

Now call me a power-gamers I guess... but there doesn't seem to be anything to keep me in the cleric class after level... 1. Not if there are niche prestige classes available- clerics who are straight classed just seem too generic to me, there are a goodly number of flavored prestige classes out there for the cleric that keep spell casting progression and also offer flavor and cool abilities.

Yeah, as I said- I'm amazed by this poll in that regard.

Easy answer? A cleric can perform more Miracles per day than a wizard can cast Wish.
