Where can I read about paladins?

Hello!

I've advanced through my dwarven fighter career into playing a human paladin, for once sake. ;) And since I'm quite new on this class I'd like some resources (free, internet) with information and, well, "stuff". This includes the old paladins in the real world, of course.

Thoughts on the lawful good alignment would also be appreciated (links, that is; I don't want to start another debate...).

If you have any other worth-to-read in your favourites-folder, you'd made my day! :D

Thank you!

All I'm going to say is if you want great paladin ideal to follow in, Barconius is my choice. That guys ROCKS! :D Course he's got a good deity too in Corean.

Don't bother with the 'Chanson de Roland' or 'Three Hearts and Three Lions'. Their characters are paladins in the normal English sense of the word rather than the idiosyncratic D&D sense. Rather, read some late versions of the Arthur cycle, especially concentrating on Lancelot, Galahad, Gaheris, and Percival.

Also, I suggest a look at "The Monks of War" by Desmond Seward, ISBN 0-14-019501-7.

Pretty good article. I'm reading it now. Though this is inaccurate.

All very bad for the Templars, but good for the king; since they were heretics, he not only erased his own debt, but was able to quietly transfer all of their assets to his own pocketbook while they were burning at the stake.

King Philip didn't get squat. He never got his hands on the Templar's wealth, as they had managed to get it out before the raids came down.

But besides that inaccuracy, great article overall.
