WHere do you find extreme Power Gaming groups?

I wouldn't waste my time trying to find him a group since he's not even willing to spend the time to try a game out for a night (or even a few hours). While I wish him luck, it seems absurd for someone else to try to do the foot work for him.

Alternately, tell him to play Warhammer or something. D&D Mini's, if he likes the D&D flavor. I don't think he's cut out for D&D, myself, if he doesn't spend more than five minutes with roleplaying.

Those are good suggestions. He's much more likely to find people with similar interests if he looks at the minis games. Warhammer Quest was a lot of fun a few years ago, so that's another one he could look for.

Thanks for the link in your sig...I don't lurk on the WoTC boards, but, I'll be adding this thread to my bookmarks. Our group is just preparing to begin this mod and having this resource will help me out alot. Thanks.

There are people who like playing these sorts of games out there. I'd try the Character Optimization boards on the WotC forum; however, I agree that Everquest, World of Warcraft, or another MMORPG are probably better fits.

Whereas powergaming is not for me, my group did purposely set out to create 12th level characters and munhckin ourselves out for a mini setting that lasted about three weeks. It was really kind of fun becauase we knew we would not get the opportunity to do this very often.

Honestly, it sounds like the guy in question would be much happier with a war game or a computer game.
