Our current group always plays at someone's house. We're all adults.

Of course, sometimes we have to shift venues due to babysitters or other RW complications, but that's cool- everyone in the group has enough room and a suitable table to use.

My first ever group, though, was in the library of East Middle School of Aurora, Colorado, back in 1977, and we played after school, so we didn't have to be 100% quiet.

On rare, rare occasions- such as an ENWorld Gameday- I find myself gaming in a game shop or a pizza place or some such. But I can count all of those instances in the past 30+ years on my 2 hands.

Almost without exception we play our regular games at the home of whoever is that game's DM; it's just easier that way.

One-offs and suchlike are a different story but are still held in someone's home.

Online, at the game store, or at somebody else's home. That said, mainly online now that the city has all but abolished the bus system. If I move back East (a serious possibility at this time), though, I'll probably be doing more face to face play as I both know a lot of gamers there and won't be hampered by useless public transportation.

We play at a home. We alternate amongst our group depending on people's situations and needs. I have never played an RPG at a FLGS. Miniature battles? yes. RPG games? No.

I game several places, sometimes at home or a friend's house (depends on who is DMing)

Most of the time though we get a room at the uni I'm currently studying at and everyone meets there, usually a lot easier and the projecter/computer/whiteboard helps quite a lot for combat. Lots of table space too :D

That doesn't mean that I won't occasionally dress the part:

Watch out! There appears to be a gamer with his head up your ass!*

*I'll have to get tips on how he got it out of his own. :D
