Where does giant equipment come from?

The pcs slew some giants and were searching their bags. Here's some gold, here are some throwing rocks, here's a haunch of meat and some pretty rocks- and here's a bag with a bunch of sheep and the new bard pc in it. :)
Tee hee! A Small Bard or a Medium Bard?

Wow, am I the only dm that has giants working in the forges, humungous looms for weaving, giants with pens of sheep, etc??

This stuff is all imc.

I do that too, I thought it was a given but I guess not. Nothing wrong with cloud and storm giants having giant silkworms is there?

Frost giants would keep dire mountain goats or other such critters and have their slaves weave wool for them. Iron mined for their weapons. I don't see that as an issue at all since they aren't as particularly stupid as their hill giant cousins (who now aren't much bigger than ogres).

Hill giants always seem to be depicted in crude green skins, caveman style or with slightly better gear, patchwork ect. Dire cave bears are certainly big enough to make a crude hill giant sized bearskin cloak. Remember, before this nonsense of small, medium and large weapon sizes, a two handed sword made a serviceable longsword for a hill giant.

Frost, Fire and Stone Giants have int of 10. Average human intelligence equals average human tech level in my book.

Certainly smart enough to make their own clothing and weaponry. Storm and Cloud Giants are smarter and have better taste than the rest of their cousins. Perhaps they watch bravo in their seers crystal ball to get fashion tips, who knows.

The Edit:

Ok, I had to look it up because I was feeling a case of stupid coming on. Sure enough the stat blocks for the various core giant races say:

Fost Giant: Craft (any one) +6
Fire Giant: Craft (any one) +6
Cloud Giant: Craft (any one) +11
Storm Giant: Craft (any one) +13

So there is your answer, for frost, fire, cloud and storm they make their own stuff if necessary.

Only Hill and Stone giants are without a craft skill. Even so one could assume that they could force others to make their clothes, lest they grind their bones to make their bread.

That reminds me...

The last time I sent my players against some giants, they discovered several potions as treasure. Each "vial" was the size of a 16 oz. soda bottle, and took a full round action for a small or medium-sized character to drink. :D

When you one of the biggest, baddest, dudes on the block, it's amazing what kind of tribute you can accumulate. ;)

I don't see giants as being particularly industrious. I do, however, see them as having extensive systems of tribute whereby lesser creatures provide everything giants need to survive. Sort of like the Sopranos. :p

That is how I envision it as well. The problem is, more so for the Huge and larger giants, where do all the raw materials come from? Starglim did provide a good idea for fire giants getting metal, but I doubt they trade much with frosts and all the minor giant races that also use metal. I never thought of stone giants as cavemen (like hill giants)- I wonder why they didn't get Craft (stonework) and Profession (miner) since that is how they make and decorate their housing.

I was tempted to make a joke and reply "Kobolds." There are a number of giant races that could maintain forges, and most importantly they don't have to do all of the work themselves. Different giants have different skillsets and abilities and they can in turn trade with each other and with non giants. Even the dumb giants can always get cheap hand me downs from the more powerful giants.
