Nearly all of these spells are homebrew. A few (although I'd be hard-pressed to remember which) are derived or inspired by other sources, mostly net-based, but still re-balanced.

These spells are mostly either pure flavor, a reaction to an imbalance in the spells as they exist, or to fill out some schools that are sparse at a few levels (necromancy and illusion in particular). In this connection I should mention that we re-balanced Scry to have higher DCs and invisibility to be a higher level.

My favorite spell is actually the first, Animate Body Part. Never actually been used, but I love the flavor of an animated dead hand slowly crawling down a corridor to deliver a vampiric touch to a sleeping victim.

I don't know of that spell but I do remember the describtion in Players Handbook 2e for Cantrip. "Common tricks with cantrips include tinklings of ethereal music, brightening faded flowers, glowing balls that float over the caster's hands, puffs of winds to flicker candles, spicing up aromas and flavors of bland food..." Okay. I looked it up :) But my point. All these effects are now handled under the 0 level spell Prestidigitation. That's why I consider it the coolest spell in the game.

BMCDaniel, could you email me those spells as a word document/pdf/txt file/rtf file/whatever? They all seem really good, but I don't have the time to reformat them all after copying them to word (my computer messes up the indentations really badly). My email is carpdiem@gte.net

My favorite is Improved Mirror Image. A mage is so vulnerable when surrounded- this helps a lot.

Animate Body Part is very cool, but I think the Fauna Multiplex Permutation is the best. Great for escapes, for searching areas, fantastic visual effects. Wall of Eyes is great in a creepy way. Lots of flavor.

Resistance Check, Scrybite, and Confidence fill important gaps in the spell lists...

Very well done!
