Where is your first port of call at GenCon?

Which stall do you run to first?

My first port of call is Crystal Caste's booth - I wanna get some of them Dinosaur Bone dice (and see their "mystery product", which I've heard will be a normal-sized set of Dwarven Stone dice, at $100), then onto The Gamers Bag, followed by the S&S booth, before wrecking....errr... I mean visiting the Wizards Castle.

Straight to the White Wolf/Sword and Sorcery/Malhavoc Press booth for all things Arcana Unearthed! Then to Crystal Caste for more dice that I can shake a stick at. Then to Steve Jackson Games for Munchkin and Pokethulu. Then to the Gamer's Bag (for obvious reasons). Then to running around like a kid at a candy store with occasional drive-bys the Wizard's Castle to keep my hand in.

I recently refined my list of things to do and people to see, and it's actually more complete than the itinerary for my day job.

First Dealer's room thing is Arcana Unearthed, where I hope to get my hands on one of those Malhavoc Mini's. I can only hope I get one before they sell out.

The second place on my hit list is Green Ronin, and a copy of Testament.

Everything else is gravy. WotC ain't running out of 3.5 books, and all other purchases will come on an "IT MUST BE MINE!" basis.

10 AM damn I have been gaming for two hours, 10 is the time to open the Dealer Room!

Threw the door take a right, head to isle against the far wall and now start the walk, checking out what is out, thumbing the pages, picking up reading the back of the product. Take a note or two, watch a demo, check out the booth babes, see if anything grabs my attention. First time is a check normally don't stop and buy.

It looks like, due to circumstances beyond our control, we may not have as many copies of Arcana Unearthed as we'd like. Thus, while I don't think you have to get it right away, the first morning, waiting until Sunday might not be a good idea either. Maybe we'll be able to keep it all stocked, but I don't want anyone to get burned in case we can't.


I wish things were otherwise, but--much to my chagrin--I'm still not in charge of all reality. I'm working on it, though.

I think rushing to your stall first, is more to do with the "I got it first" attitude.... or they want to make sure they get it before they run out of money....
