Where to start watching Torchwood?

Sheesh, tell us what you really think. I'm not sure how you justify that statement in any case, since they are often written by the same people (and certainly produced by them)!

I've heard the same thing. I watched the first disc and while it was OK, I wasn't impressed enough to want to immediately jump back in. I've been told that the second season is a great, great improvement so maybe just start there?

Not true at all. I didn't like the first season at all, and the second season was much much worse. Just some really bad writing all around.

Just to be fair, my wife is a HUGE Torchwood fan. She absolutely loved season one, but she really hated season two. She is unlikely to come back when season three starts --- yes, season two was really that bad.

Really? I thought Season 1 was awful, and that Season 2 was a large improvement (not that it ever approached Doctor Who, but certainly leaps and bounds over Torchwood Season 1).

Can't account for different tastes, I guess!

Season 3 will be utterly different again; it's moving to BBC1, for a start; so it will be more family friendly. And half the cast is dead now. I imagine Season 3 will be akin to a reboot.

Which is a bit sad, because I loved those two (though there wasn't much more you could do with
Tosh
, I don't think they explored
Owen's
transformation as much as they could).

I agree that 2 was better than 1 (except for certain eps. in 2 that made me unhappy).
