p.s. see everyone: Boston, gamer's paradise. :D

Yay, Boston! I think it's the student population that draws them in, and then everyone stays. :D

Don't forget: Boston EN world game day on July 18th at Kahuna Burger's place south of the city.

[STRONGBAD] Holy Crap! [/STRONGBAD] Why is this the first I'm hearing of this ?!? I was going to post a thread and ask if Boston gameday was ever going to happen again, having missed all the others.

Gamer Paradise: Central NC. I live in Greensboro, but commute to Raleigh every weekend to game. Tons of stuff in Raleigh, both gamers and stores. I'm also led to believe that Gboro isn't too bad in and of itself.

Paradise. We have 5 gaming stores, plenty of gamers and potential gamers, and 3 conventions 2 of them that are pretty darn big.

What five were you thinking of?

The Guardtower, The Laughing Ogre, The Blushing Pixie, Soldiery & Ravenstone? Plus The Armoury in Reynoldsburg and Comic Town(s).

Cincinnati: ACME games, Violet Vortex, Comic Book World, Cincinnati Sci-Fi (and one more on the East side who's name I can't remember)

Dayton: The Bookery, Tin Soldier, Dragon's Lair

All in all Central to SW Ohio is a pretty well covered area.

BTW I'm reasonably certain that Origins is a tad more than "pretty darn big". ;)

Washington, DC - Mixed, but leaning towards paradise. Lots of gamers and good gaming stores.

Downside - Traffic sucks if you have to drive any distance to game

Yeah, Boston is great for gamers. I played my very first D&D 1E game while attending college. Luckily it was my senior year, otherwise I might have flunked out (we constantly played; the game was so popular they couldn't keep the manuals in stock)!

Anyway, here in southern New Jersey, near Atlantic City, there are plenty of places to buy supplements, etc, and right around from house is a tremendous gaming store. It may not be the ultimate paradise but it is far, far removed from a wasteland.

I wasn't counting the Comic Towns since they are comics first and really don't have a great slection. What is the Blushing Pixie? I haven't heard of that one. I was counting Soldiery, Laughing Ogre, Gaurdtower, Armory, and Ravenstone.

edit: huh, and a google brought up a place called Gameshop

What is the Blushing Pixie?

It's on High St., closer to campus than Soldiery.

Do you mean Gamestop?

It used to be on Morse Rd. Not sure if it is still there or not.
