Where's the editorial calendar?

I seem to do this every month. Namely because Wizards takes so long to post the Editorial calendar. C'mon. Next week is the new month. WHERE MY CALENDAR?

:)

While I sympathize greatly, at the moment I'm more concerned about the lack of the new podcast on iTunes.

More on topic, I'm looking forward to the new calender so I can see just what the new material from the PH3 will be, or if we will even get a preview with the Assassin released that month as well.

I am positive we'll see the Assassin.

It would be interesting to see if we get the PHB3 stuff in ADDITION to the Assassin.

Well, maybe you should learn that they do it very late at the end of the month. I often use the Editorial Calender as a navigation tool - seeing lots of entries that don't lead me to the real articles is of little aid to me. ;)

Well, it seems to be up, and I was initially shocked at how limited the selection in Dragon was... before realizing this seems to be the month for the split between DM and Player content. I think. Hard to tell how much of the Dungeon content is adventures and how much more general articles. With that in mind, the articles do make a bit more sense.

Dragon has an article on the Great Weapon Fighter, essentials for the Cleric and Warden, a new Adventurers of the Realms article, and finally a series of three articles for the Assassin at the different tier. Which is... odd, but I'm hoping that means they are presenting not just the class, but full support for it - significant feats at each tier, along with a selection of Paragon Paths and some Epic Destinies. That would be a lot more than I was expecting, and be very satisfying to see!

The focus is still a little limiting in my eyes - the fact that every single article is centered on a specific class - and I'm hoping that is just how the pieces fell into place and not the start of a trend. I'm definitely a fan of articles that are a blend of flavor and mechanics - stuff that encompasses entire themes (Gladiators/Art of the Kill) or groups (White Lotus Academy, Sons of Mercy, Champions of Bahamut). I've no objection to the Class Essentials articles - I think they are very useful material - but I want a mix of content rather than just one thing.

The Skill Powers is curious. I wonder if that's going to be similar to what we saw in Complete Scoundrel.

Well, let's hope not. ;) Those were, in my opinion, pretty lame.

Now, the ability to design your own little encounter/daily power around a skill? That'd be fun.

I just saw the September editorial calendar and I have to say, I'm not pleased by it. It does seem that September is when the focus of Dungeon & Dragon will finally be split between DM & Player respectively so I'm willing to give them a bit of slack this month. What displeases me is how they split up the publication of the Assassin by tier to fill in the days seemingly (to me at least) because they have so little player focused content that to do otherwise would result in days without any articles. Now I'm wondering if we will see paragon paths & epic destinies this month at the appropriate tier or if we'll be forced to wait until next month so they can act as even more filler.

To be fair, the Assassin IS a full 30 level class (with PPs and feats and all that good stuff). That is a LOT of content, and represents a LOT of work.

I think it is because new mechanics features like a new class or race generate a lot of buzz, and spreading it out over a month gets keeps you thinking about it rather than reading it once and forgetting.

I'm surprised they don't release 1-2 articles a day, rather than 2 or 3 articles every 2 days myself.
