Which 3rd party publishers will survive?

I'm not going anywhere.

In fact, 4E offers me more opportunities to grow and be successful than 3.5 ever did.

But to echo the sentiment of other posters here, the publishers that are willing to adapt and embrace the new edition should do just fine. Sure, there might be a lull between now and May, but in the end I think this is a great time to be 3rd party publisher.

Just my 2 cents.

I hope that the monsters in 4e have the ability to be enhanced with templates like 3.x. You're existing stuff would be great to port over once we get some info about the mechanics.

Mongoose will survive. They have RQ and Traveller which are not OGL/d20, B5 and Conan which are OGL, and miniature games which are doing quite well.
Green Ronin, too. M&M + True20.

Doesn't Mongoose also have something to do with Warhammer RPG, 2nd edition?

Me too. :D

It seems likely that they will, but even if templates don't make the cut, there's nothing stopping me from simply designing new monsters.

Prestige classes, however, will be back, so at least two of my product lines can be converted over. :)

Also yeah Malhavoc worries me a bit. Arcana Unearth was designed to be a variant players hanbook. 4th ed is now technically a variant. The same goes for Iron Heroes, with Mike Mearls leading a lot of the design of 4th ed I wonder how many they'll steal back into the fold.

Iron Heroes is what I'm very curious about, will they convert to 4E rules or no? Either way I'll support them when I can as long as they produce things for purchase that I'm interested in.

Fiery Dragon & Green Ronin have precedence for me when it comes to buying third party games.

There's too much good about fiendish [insert creature here] for WotC to throw away the template idea. I think it'll stick around. Might get somewhat easier, but we'll see. I kinda think 4e monsters will be quasi-"class" based.

Any publishers who keep producing 3.5 material of any decent quality will be getting my money as of now. I have 0 interest in upgrading to 4E in the foreseeable future.

My own group of 4 o 5 have been playing 3.5 for about 2 years now (most coming from a 1E/2E background, and none of us have much interest in adapting to another new system.

Maybe once 4E has been around for a couple of years...but not before then...if a 4E SRD comes out I'll glance over it online, but that's about it...
