I ran Keep on the Borderlands... sort of.

See, I was a kid at the time (9 years old when I got the Red Box), and I really hadn't yet figured out what I was doing. So I, uh, didn't know what the map was for. I hadn't yet glommed onto the fact that the room numbers corresponded to the map numbers.

So I just had the guy I was running for (yes, one guy) encounter each room in the order they were printed in the module. :o

Took me a few months to figure out why it got so monotonous, and made so little sense. :heh:

I played both B1 and B2 and then later ran both and B3.

I know I had purchased B4 back in the day, but I don't remember ever playing or running it and then all my AD&D stuff went bye-bye thanks to an ex-girlfriend. :( She went soon after. :)

While I own and have read most of them, the only ones I ever actually played or ran were B1, B2, B5 (all of which are good), and B8 (which sucks).

Much to my surprise, I've never actually played *any* of those!

I've run B7 (loved it) and B10 (worst canned module I've ever touched).

Keep on the Borderlands
Palace of the Silver Princess
Journey to the Rock
Veiled Society

Ran:
Keep on the Borderlands
Palace of the Silver Princess
Horror on the Hill
Rahasia
Castle Caldwell and Beyond

Journey to the Rock was definitely my favorite that I played in. Despite its warts, Keep on the Borderlands was my favorite to run just because of the number of times I ran it with different groups and the familiarity over time with it. Nostalgia and the "shared experience" factor discussed here recently are also a factor.

Castle Caldwell... hmm pretty weak. "Owa Tagoo Siam" :)
