My vote went to Wizard with no doubts whatsoever.

Given time there is absolutely nothing a wizard can't achieve.

Being able to just teleport anywhere you wanted to holiday would also be a bonus and avoid unwanted cavity searches. :uhoh:

130 votes. Enough to draw some conclusions.

The arcance casters are way out in front with a combined 68 or 50.77% of the vote for Wizards and Sorcerers. Wizards have the lead as it seems more people value original spell creation over laziness.

Cleric are next with 15 votes. Comments seem to be split between 'I want to heal people' and 'I want some answers dammit!'

13 people want to be rock stars. 10% of voting gamers, interesting.

Rangers come in next at 9 votes. No real explaination of why, but it is a nice mix of skill, ability, and light magic. Plus an animal friend. And one vote for 1ed ranger. No kidding, MU and Druid spells? Sweet.

8 votes for Druid, my personal favorite. Spells, powers, pet, and wildshape.

5 monks, although one was recinded. Nifty chi powers. And you can outrun traffic, understandable.

3 Paladins, cool. I understand that.

Barbarian, Fighter and Rogue between them got 11 votes. I confess to some bafflement on why people would spend a wish getting training in skills they could get trained in anyway.

I didn't specify a level people would be trained to, deliberately. Would you answers change if your knew you would be trained to 5th level? 10th? 20th?

Nope. Sorcerers are fun from 1st level on. Actually if it was an odd character level I might consider switching to wizard for access to the higher spell level... ;)

Psion!

But as that wasn't on the list... I chose it's lesser cousin, the Sorcerer.

Then again... I could do with just Warlock.

Monk.

Can't go wrong with poison and disease immunity, and always looking 20- to 30-something even though you're 75. Oh yeah, adamantine ki strike would let me punch, kick, and head butt my way through anything.

Would my eyes glow at level 20+ like in Bioware's NWN game?

Although a better question might be: if a genie popped up and transformed you into your DnD PC counterpart based on your RL personality, background, prefrences, etc. what would you be?
Now, I'm glad that wasn't the question asked. I'm more like a Rogue/Ranger than a Wizard (which I voted for in this poll), but the question is what class I would like to be if given a choice now.

Truth be told, though, I'd rather be a Mage from Elements of Magic as I don't like Vancian magic. Spell preparation and forgetting a spell I just cast really doesn't make any sense to me, but I'm more suited to Int-based casting than Charisma. :p
