I want to find out what everyone thinks about this.

Which D&D splatbooks are the most useful? I have three of them but I'm thinking of selling Sword and Fist and Defenders of the Faith. (I'm keeping Tome and Blood, which I'm voting for because it's awsome!)

But what about the other ones? Are they any good? Browsing through them for five or ten minutes don't really give me feeling for them.

Thanks ahead of time for everyone's opinion.

I think they are ALL usefull for bits and pieces.
As for which ones of those listed get used the most by me and my players would be Song & Silence and Defenders of the Faith.

Of course IMHO the most useful thing outside of the Core Books is this site and message boards.

All of them have thier uses. Masters of the Wild is my favorite. Reading through it gave me the most character ideas. Swored and Fist is my second favorite. With the errata is is a good, solid book. Next is Tome and Blood. It probably has the most intersting and unique classes and abilities, but it seems more geared towards NPCs. Lastly come Song and Silence and Defenders of the Faith. Both offer some interesting choices, but neither really sparked my imigination.

Yeah, I've got em all, but none of them are *that* great...

Making up your own stuff (or stealing someone elses off of this site!) is always best. Those corporate dudes, they must right half this stuff on crack.

The other half is quite usefull. Sometimes.

Masters of the Wild is the one other splatbook I've considered getting. Personally, I couldn't get into Sword and Fist, while Tome and Blood gave me great ideas. Mainly I like that book for giving me a Third Edition version of the Arace Order. The rest of the book is gravy.

To me, the best warrior book out there is Path of the Sword by Fantasy Flight.

Path of Swords is a superior book to S&F. It's not even close. The only thing I would have liked to see in Path of the Sword was the magical side of the Ranger. It's an area few people have ever covered, let alone done that well. With luck when Path of Magic comes out (Early September I hope) I'll be saying it's better then T&B.

MotW is my favorite book. I'm very partial to Rangers, and it has great prestige classes for them. The spells are more orignal then in other products, as well as useful. It has a wide selection of feats geared toward Barbarian, Druids, and Rangers. Many are too class specific for me and too combat oriented, though.

Splatbooks

If you are playing or DM'ing a paladin, keep Defenders of the Faith. Anything that makes playing a paladin a little more objective is a good thing.
If you know that stuff yourself, of course, you might still like some of the variant channel energy crunchies.
Otherwise, I like Sword and Fist. With errata, there's not a bad prestige class in the lot, and the feats are pretty good. Plus it talks a bit about the general theory and practice of combat, which is good for every class.
