Which Era?

Course, in pure game terms, the Alliance is basically dead in that fight. ;)

I know what you mean, though. Personally, I just feel like if you go for the era, really dive into it. Especially since there are so many great eras. There's definitely a great situation set up with the Sith's Empire vs. Fel Empire vs. Galactic Alliance, and I think that's the aspect of the Era I truly like the most, its just most of the ship designs and such are just...different. They aren't bad, and I particularly like the GA ships, but I'm just too much in love with the classic stuff and still getting used to the Legacy designs.

Yeah. Its a minor thing, but in a way it kind of fits the Imperial Knights as a whole. They're loyal to the Emperor, they don't have the moral ideals of the Jedi, and they're definitely borderline dark side at times...so they're going to be jerks. Roan Fel is awesome, though.

But I think the one that bothers me the most is: [sblock]That new chick who's name escapes me. I liked her and then...bah. I still like her, but now she's in the 'jerk' column.[/sblock]
I think the Imperial Knights are an opportunity to really go samurai (with the Jedi being more mystical than that). The thing is, you have to contrast them with the Sith to show "them? THEY are evil".

Also regarding, the Imperial Knights, check out Legacy #22. I'd say that this issue showcases the Imperial Knights at their best, and I wouldn't mind seeing more of those two as opposed to Draco and Ganner.

Sigel Dare, I dunno. She was worse than Draco qhen she first appeared. But her master showed a temperance that all other Knights lack, so far. I'm disappointed that Marasiah isn't showing much of her pre-knighting personality.

Also, "Knights, protect your Emperor" was a kickass phrase by Morghan Fel.

Alternate timeline.

No, really - it works great. Change one thing in the Star Wars timeline, and extrapolate. In my campaign, R2 and 3PO's escape pod was tractor-beamed into one of the Star Destroyers. My game is set about 5 years after that.

As a result, I ended up with Leia and Luke turning to the Dark Side, Vader and the Emperor in a power-struggle, and the Rebellion floating around in 3 (now 2) BSG-style fleets, since they need to keep mobile. After all, at least one Death Star is still around.

I gaffled this idea from the thread on CM and am also running a campaign based on this alternate history. I'm probably going to deviate even further from the canon as the campaign progresses. It'll be tons of fun.

Odds are, that was the thread I started over there where I was looking for ideas. I got a lot of good feedback there, from actual Star Wars nerds (I use the term affectionately, being many kinds of nerd myself). I've never been much for Star Wars until I started running it. Folks like The Universe were founts of great information. :)

The What If? format has a ton of benefits going for it. I feel like we're really creating a new story, instead of finding cracks in the established canon and filling them in. Also, I'm able to completely re-use characters from the movies, and my players love running into them in unexpected ways.

* Leia is a Sith lord, apprenticed to Darth Vader. They are in a covert war with the Emperor.
* Luke is also a Sith lord, apprenticed to the Emperor. Additionally, taking a cue from the Zahn series, the Emperor has been using Luke clones as elite soldiers and infiltrators. The party has killed or captured 3 so far, and run from another.
* Jabba was assassinated, as part of a plot by Vader. He was replaced by a force-sensitive Hutt from Nar Shadaa.
* Taking a cue from KotOR, GOTO is (still?) around. He's also active on Nar Shadaa and throughout the galaxy. He's been a relatively minor player, but has a big bounty out on some of the PCs.
* The party infiltrated the mostly-empty Star Destroyer Devastator, and rescued an old and deactivated R2 unit, thought to contain plans to the Death Star. The Republic is investigating this very thoroughly.
* One of the aforementioned Luke clones infiltrated one of the three Republic fleets, and hijacked the computer they were using for randomized Hyperspace jumps. They jumped straight into a massive ambush, caught in Interdictor fields, and killed.

Yeah, there's a lot going on, and my players have been in the middle of most of it. It's been a very good game so far.
