D&D 2E Which is the better fantasy rpg and why: D&D 5e or Pathfinder 2e?

The problem with your analogy is that you are comparing position to numbers here. So let's take a strong selling franchise that's still running. The Fast and The Furious. Just because the MCU overtook it doesn't make it non-profitable and just because

Pathfinder is not Fast and the Furious.

This is where your comparison is flawed.

It's successful, yes. But then a $100 million movie which makes $110 million is also successful. That $10 million is a big result for the budget and the people making the movie would be very happy with it. Comparing such a movie to the MCU though would be silly.

Okay based on what I have read above, I would have to conclude that the majority of gamers on this thread feel D&D 5e is better than Pathfinder 2e. Thanks for your input.

4e had D&D Insider, 5e has D&D Beyond, and Paizo has its Adventure Path Subscriptions. And frankly these things are a license to print money -
FYI, D&D Beyond is not owned by WotC and is therefore not their subscription service. Curse has a license to produce it. However, similar to the DMsGuild, these licenses are basically like printing money for WotC, just not subscriptions.

PF2 might eventually beat 5e, but only when there is more material for it. Currently, the options at every level to pick is lame vs boring.
